Collaboration

Collaboration with other institutes plays a key part in the research programme.  Collaborators have included the Silsoe Research Institute and the Natural Resources Institute (UK), the Institut Agronomique et Veterinaire (Morocco), the International Livestock Research Institute, the International Trypanotolerance Centre (The Gambia), the Ministries of Agriculture (Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia), the Universities of: Zimbabwe, Fort Hare (S. Africa), Concepción (Chile), the State of Mexico in Toluca (Mexico), Hohenheim (Germany) and Pretoria's Dept. of Veterinary Tropical Diseases (South Africa)

Development and extension of research information has been greatly assisted by charitable organisations, who have made use of information and recommendations produced from the research in their work in welfare and training and development programmes.  These organisations include:  the Brooke Hospital for Animals, The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA), International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH) and Vetaid.

Funding for the research has come from the Department for International Development (DFID), The European Union, SPANA and the Royal Society, London.
